baptism

“Do you not know that we who were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?

For Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:3-4 (MEV)

As soon as you have personally placed your trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

At the end of the service, please come to the front of the platform where our pastor will be waiting and introduce you to the church and we will listen to your pre-recorded story. On Sunday mornings we baptize at approximately 11:00 A.M. in the baptistry at the beginning of our worship service unless you choose to be baptized in a lake, river or swimming pool. Family members and friends can sit on one of the front pews to take pictures or film your baptism. When we baptize in a lake, river or pool we need to plan the meeting place and time well in advance. We all try to go home and get changed, and get some picnic food and meat at the pre-determined spot between 1:00 and 1:30 P.M.

Bring your baptism clothes to the service. Women/girls should wear shorts or pants and a (non-white) top rather than a swimsuit, or a dark colored t-shirt that completely covers the swimsuit. Men/boys should wear a swimsuit or shorts, and a dark colored t-shirt. Bring a change of clothes, a towel, and a plastic bag for your wet clothes.

The Pastor will ask you what is the decision you have made? You might want to re affirm your decision to follow Jesus Christ. We will call out your name to come into the baptism pool then take your photo or video tape your baptism. A Bible and a signed certificate of baptism will be a part of the beautiful baptism experience we will give you after your baptism. Our pastor will say a few words and briefly lower you to just below the surface of the water and then bring you right back up. You can then exit the baptism pool and watch as others celebrate their baptism.

Yes! If each family member understands fully the meaning of baptism, and each one has personally placed his/her trust in Christ for salvation, we encourage families to be baptized at the same time. Young children who wish to be baptized are asked to meet with our Pastor for a pre-baptism conversation prior to being baptized.
